Bektav — Security

Bektav and tScribe are two names of the same Service, provided by the same company from the same systems: an account made under either name is one account, kept in one database and managed by the same administrators; this document applies to both.

Bektav holds recordings, chats and documents that are often confidential. This is how we protect them.

Your data stays in Israel

The Service and all your files are hosted in Israel. Speech recognition, speaker identification, reading pictures and the built-in translation run on our own servers. AI translation by a third party (Claude, by Anthropic) is off until an admin of your organization agrees to it; even then only the text of the lines being translated is sent — never audio or pictures. The recipients of personal data are listed in the Privacy Policy and the DPA.

Encrypted

In transit (HTTPS only) and at rest. Project backups you download are encrypted with your own passphrase — we cannot open them.

Only your people see it

Each organization is separate from every other one. Inside it, people see only the projects they are members of, with the role they were given. Our staff see your content only to give support you asked for, or when the law requires it — and every such visit is recorded and shown to your organization's admins.

Secure sign-in

Strong password storage, two-step sign-in (which your admin can require for everyone), and automatic sign-out when idle.

Deleted when you delete it

Your content stays until your organization deletes it or closes its account; the details are in the Privacy Policy.

Incidents

If a security incident affects your data, we notify your organization without undue delay, and the authorities as the law requires (DPA, section 6).

Reporting a vulnerability

Write to [email protected]. Please give us reasonable time to fix it before making it public, and don't access other people's data or disrupt the Service.

Questionnaires

Bektav is not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified yet. For a security questionnaire or a call before uploading anything, write to [email protected].
